The Class 12 Biology students of our school, along with their teacher Mrs. Ruchi Singh, recently visited the Forest Research Institute (FRI), Dehradun, one of India’s leading research centres. The visit offered an enriching insight into the world of plant science and biotechnology.
A highlight of the day was the tour of the Tissue Culture Laboratory, where scientists demonstrated how new plants are grown from small tissue samples under sterile, controlled conditions. Students learned how this method enables rapid plant multiplication, conservation of rare species, and production of disease-free varieties.
The interactive demonstrations helped simplify complex concepts and gave students valuable hands-on exposure. The visit proved both informative and inspiring, deepening their interest in biological research and environmental conservation.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the FRI staff for their guidance and warm hospitality.
