22nd Asian Challenge Inter-School Debate Competition

“Mastering the art of oration for three consecutive years”

Debate is an art where logical reasoning, a convincing way to put your thoughts across to the audience, clarity, and depth of ideas in an individual’s mind related to a given topic are of prime importance, an art at which the students of Ann Mary School excel. Year after year our students have been winning the coveted trophies for debate while participating in the various competitions held in reputed schools across the town.

On Tuesday, 30th April 2024 two students possessing oratory skills par excellence namely Mansi Khandurie of class XI and Soham Chhabra of class XII participated in the illustrious “22nd Asian Challenge Inter-School Debate Competition” hosted by the Asian School. They debated on the topic “Artificial Intelligence poses a greater threat than Nuclear Weapons”. Mansi Khandurie presented her views “For” the topic while Soham Chhabra vehemently opposed the notion.

Both of them with their high level of oratory skills, convinced the audience in an equal measure.

Thirteen reputed schools took part in the event and the judges had a tough time to judge the best amongst the participants. When it was time for the announcement of the results, each one present at the event, held their breath waiting for the outcome. We were delighted to lift all the five trophies being awarded i.e. for the best team, best speaker for, best speaker against, best rebuttal for and best rebuttal against the notion.

Heartiest congratulations to Mansi Khandurie and Soham Chhabra. The school is very proud of you. A big thank you to our english teacher, Mrs. Teena Dora, under whose tutelage the boys and girls of the senior school are being groomed for debating events!!!
